The wetting pattern which occurs under surface drip irrigation is an important component for the optimum design of system and programming. aim this investigation was to devise a model enables estimation 2D cross-sectional area dripper by analytical method. main parameters are diameter on soil surface, maximum wetted depth width in profile, from surface. In laboratory experiments, water applications were carried out two textures (clay loam clay) with homogeneous profiles at discharge rates over 125 min 170 periods. sizes measured as consecutive series 5-min intervals during application period. general/main shape represents patterns occur different conditions defined mathematically modelled. When results evaluated statistically, correlation 0.9128 found between momentary change predicted those experiment. variations accelerations same parameter 0.9205. addition, size showed increment reducing velocities indicate that devised can be used prediction dripper.
